The initiative is part of Operation Sceptre, a national campaign to tackle knife crime. It is also being used as an opportunity to raise awareness of new legislation which makes it illegal to possess certain weapons in private places like homes – this includes items such as knuckledusters, flick knives and telescopic truncheons.
