Birchanger Cricket Club has always supported its residents and the players who have represented their local village. The cricket match advertised is a celebration of this.
Many of the clubs players, friends and families have been affected by dementia and Birchanger Cricket Club wanted to highlight the nature of this disease and its effects on those closest, by putting on a T20 dementia cricket game.
The purpose of this game is to highlight the incredible selfless work of local community volunteer groups who support families affected by dementia and also highlight how physical activity can have a positive effect on those with the disease.
Organisers of this event would like to say a personal thank you to the volunteers and staff at Birchanger Cricket Club and CVSU for supporting our local community for so long – and to all the friends and family who will make this day special.
Everyone is welcome. This is a dementia-friendly game.
Sunday 1st September
12.30 p.m. for 1 p.m. cricket start
There will also be a BBQ and raffle.
The event is free to attend. All donations received on the day will go to support the Dunmow Dementia Cafe and dementia related activities in our district.
