The Council for Voluntary Services Uttlesford in partnership with learning and development organisation Enterprise East is launching a number of regular activities at the newly opened Cornell Court residence in Saffron Walden
These activities replicate those that have been running successfully in Great Dunmow over the past few years, and helps us to extend our provision for older and more isolated people.
The activities will be:
Monday – Friendship Group – An inclusive and social session where people living with Dementia and their carers can come together with others and share their experiences and access our support over friendly chat and coffee.
Tuesday – TEC Mates – Learning skills and development for people who want to get the most from their devices- computer, phone, or tablet! Bring a device or learn some new skills on the computer in the IT suite. Weekly group from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m.
Wednesday – Shed inside A social/activity group for gents who want to do something practical with their time. We have tools and kits to assemble, plus some game and more coffee (and cake!)
Thursday – COVID recovery group – just a friendly social group for people who have been shielding or self-isolating during the pandemic, and who would now like to start going out to the community once again. We will support each other to regain the confidence, and feel happy about being out and about once again. Members will also be able to access help and support from a Social Prescriber attached to their GP Surgery, and our own Community Respond from the Uttlesford Community Response Hub.
Activities listed will run fortnightly unless otherwise stated.
For more information please contact us on the Uttlesford Community Response Hub on 03333 408 218 or Cornell Court residents can ask for information at the Café on the ground floor.
