Funded by DCMS and The National Lottery, the Employment Support Scheme is a community based project aimed at helping residents who find themselves newly unemployed and who require help to navigate the job-seeking market. This project will support recently unemployed residents in getting back to work swiftly. Help available includes navigating the job seeking market, access to CV writing and interview skills, plus signposting and referrals to specialist support. We are working with a number of agencies and voluntary groups across the district, to help those seeking work, or looking to learn new skills to improve their employment opportunities.
Who can use the service?
The scheme is open to Uttlesford residents who are recently unemployed or finding it difficult to get into work. The service is provided free by CVSU thanks to funding secured through The National Lottery community resilience fund, dedicated to helping communities recover from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
How are services delivered?
Both remotely (online) and in person at venues across the district, adhering to government COVD-19 guidelines. We will also refer with your consent to specialist groups who can provide further support around your change of life circumstances, e.g. Citizens Advice, Mind in West Essex, Uttlesford Foodbank.
