Shielding ends on 31 July but our support for the community will continue

From 31 July those classed as “clinically extremely vulnerable” are being advised that they no longer have to shield. Government provided food boxes and medicine deliveries will also end

The Uttlesford Community Response Hub will continue to operate in our district for those people needing additional help and support. Call us on 03333 408218 between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday for help with food shopping, prescriptions and welfare calls.
We’re also hosting online activity sessions and now you can access Safer at Home too – for help with your garden and essential home repairs.

Safer at Home

We have a small team available to help residents feel safer in their homes, by undertaking tasks such as installing key safes for secure carer access, handrails and making sure steps at entrances are level and safe.  We want to reduce trips and falls, which can have a huge impact on a person’s wellbeing.

We also want to help people to be better connected, through using digital devices such as video doorbells and computer tablets to make calls, buy shopping and order repeat prescriptions.

Safer at Home includes our popular “Green Matters” garden rescue service aimed at the vulnerable, disabled and elderly residents who have lost control of their gardens.  We can help to make your garden a safer and nicer place to be.
